Dr. Willie Ramey III Congratulations to Pitt RSP Vice-President Mary Nobles Maultsby on her appointment to fill the open District 1 seat on the Pitt County Board of Education. She was sworn in on April 15, 2024, and plans to run for the seat in the November election. A graduate of Fayetteville State University, she is a veteran educator having worked in Pitt, Edgecombe, Halifax and Lenoir counties. She is a member of the Iota Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Fayetteville State University National Alumni Association and Eastern North Carolina Historically Black Colleges and Universities Combine and President-elect for Pitt County Fayetteville State University Alumni Chapter. She is a member of the National Council of Negro Women and Sycamore Hill Missionary Baptist Church and is the mother of two successful daughters. The state has a new website. Our partnership school for 2023-2024 is Pactolus Global School. Their principal is Kimberly T. Lucas. Community Service Chair, Lillian Outterbridge will coordinate activities.
Congratulations to Irene Raphael (Pactolus Global School) on receiving a Juanita Fulton Johnson 2023-2024 mini-grant! She received $300.00 to purchase Lego Landmark kits. Each year members are asked to donate $5.00 to maintain the fund.
